FW Warehousing is Approved to receive, store and ship animal byproducts consigned directly from foreign establishments. As a 3PL Third Party Logistics partner, FW Warehousing can ship the imported items to any APHIS approved U. S. facilities.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) serves to facilitate safe international trade, monitor the health of animals presented at the border and regulate the import and export of animals, animal products and biologicals.
According to the USDA website:
“APHIS serves to facilitate safe trade, monitor the movement of risk material, protect against the introduction of pests, regulate the import and export of plants, and help exporters meet the entry requirements of other countries.”
APHIS inspectors visit warehousing facilities to ensure compliance with the stringent USDA requirements as they pertain to APHIS. FW Warehousing facilities were inspected as recently as August 23, 2011 and found in compliance with the USDA regulations.
According to John Cusumano, Jr., the APHIS Certified Warehouse distinction means a lot in today’s global economy:
“FW Warehousing has established itself as a market leader. We receive goods from all over the world – more today than yesterday and we certainly expect to receive more and more as our company continues to grow. Being an APHIS Certified Warehouse means we adhere to the highest standards set forth by the USDA and most important, our facility is inspected annually to ensure we continue to meet or exceed these high standards.”
FW Safety & Compliance Officer, Mike Cusumano, engaged the USDA and APHIS to ensure FW Warehousing complied with the stringent requirements and were granted certification.
